普段何気なく接するものでも、ちゃんと見つめてみるといろいろなドラマが山のようにあふれ出してくる。
そんな事をじわーんと経験するような気分を、浜松市楽器博物館と言うところで味わってきました。
まぁーあるわあるわ楽器。
オーケストラで見るような整った現在の楽器なんて、楽器の歴史のほんの片鱗なのであるなぁーと。
トランペットの口は牙が生えて蛇みたいになってるし。大砲そのものにしか見えない太鼓があったり。ほんと世界中にいろんな音を出す装置があるのですねぇ。
中国あたりで「ピパ」と言っていたものが日本に来て「琵琶」になったってのは笑った。
その見ていた中でも、ひときわ目を惹いた（というか展示もかなり凄かった！）のが、ピアノ軍団（鍵盤楽器と言うべきか）だった。
最初に出会ったのは「自動演奏ピアノ」。もちろん昔の物なのでコンセントなんてつながってない。
こんな綺麗なお姉さんが弾いてくれたのですが。このお姉さんは空気を送るだけ。
お姉さんが足踏み器と手のあたりの装置で空気を送ると、穴が空いた布がくるくる回って、ピアノの鍵盤が勝手に押されて、演奏が始まるのでした。
音楽も綺麗に奏でられているし、お姉さんは綺麗だし（関係ない）、一緒に行った連れは携帯いじってるし（おいお前）、穴が空いた布を回しているだけなのに・・・。
すごいよ。ホントに。一寸聞いてみると、穴は鍵盤の数だけ合って、布を巻き付けている筒の穴と布の穴が重なった時に、空気が通って鍵盤を押すらしい。すごいねぇー夏休みの自由研究に作ったいね。もう夏休み無いけど・・・。
このピアノは、高級品であったのもあり世界恐慌を境にぱったりと世の中から消えてしまったそうです。
あと、ピアノの歴史なんて言うものもあった。
初めは「弦をはじく」チェンバロというものから始まった。
しかし、弦をはじくだけでは「音の強弱」が難しいので、「弦を叩く」ことで音を出すチェンバロを、クリストファーリを言う人が作った。これがピアノの初期らしい。
とはいうものの、目新しい事は批判されるもので、
「押してから音出るまでおせーじゃねぇーかこのやろう！」
「チェンバロははじくからいい音がでるんだぞ馬鹿野郎！」
と罵声をあびたかは知らないけど、いろいろな苦労があったようであります。
その後、すぐに音が出るように改良したり、連続して音が出せるように改良したりといろいろな改良が重ねられ、今のピアノになっているとか・・・。
さくっと書いているけれども、技術者芸術家投資家様々な人が様々な立場で苦労したであろう事を想像すると、胸を打たれますなぁ。
ところで余り詳しくは書かれていなかったけれども、今や日本のピアノメーカーが世界を席巻しているとも聞く。
歴史の中であまり日本人の名前は出てきていなかった。そんな中世界でも有数のピアノを作れるようになった日本って結構すごい国なのではないかと、ふと思ってしまった。
また調べてみたいとは思うけれども、まずは楽器体験コーナーで私がピアノを片手で危なっかしく弾いた後に、当てつけかのように華麗に両手で同じ曲を弾いてくだすった約８歳児め！お前を見返さねば・・・おっさんをなめるな！
